Getting There

Metro
From downtown Silver Spring, walk to the Silver Spring Metro Station located at 8400 Colesville Road. Take the Red Line train towards Glenmont. After a 10-minute ride, disembark at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. Transfer to the Yellow Line towards Greenbelt and continue until you reach the L'Enfant Plaza station. Finally, switch to the Blue, Orange, or Silver Line towards Largo Town Center and get off at the Smithsonian station. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the United States Botanic Garden located at 100 Maryland Ave SW, Washington, DC 20001. Head southwest on Independence Ave SW, then turn left on 3rd St SW and continue until you reach the garden.

Bus
Walk to the nearest bus stop at Silver Spring Transit Center. Take the Metrobus route 70 towards the DC Department of Transportation. After about 25 minutes, get off at the 7th St NW & Maryland Ave NW stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the United States Botanic Garden. Head east on Maryland Avenue SW, and you will find the garden on your right at 100 Maryland Ave SW.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a nearby dock, such as Capital Bikeshare at 8600 Colesville Rd. Head south on Colesville Road towards the Silver Spring Transit Center, then follow the bike lanes to the National Mall. Once you reach Independence Ave SW, turn left and continue until you reach the garden at 100 Maryland Ave SW. The total cycling distance is about 10 miles and should take approximately 45 minutes.
