    From downtown Silver Spring, walk to the Silver Spring Metro Station located at 8400 Colesville Road. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont. After three stops, get off at Farragut North Station. Exit the station, and walk west on I Street NW until you reach 16th Street NW. Turn left on 16th Street NW and continue walking until you arrive at Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The White House will be on your right.

    From the Silver Spring Transit Center, board the Metrobus route Z2 or Z6 heading towards Fort Totten. Ride for approximately 30 minutes and get off at the stop near the White House, which is located at 15th Street NW & H Street NW. From the bus stop, walk 2 blocks south on 15th Street NW until you reach Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The White House will be directly ahead.

  • Walking

    If you are in central Silver Spring, you can also choose to walk to the White House. Head towards Colesville Road and walk south until you reach the Silver Spring Metro Station. From there, follow the previous Metro guidance or continue straight on Colesville Road until you reach the DC line. Once in Washington, D.C., navigate towards 16th Street NW and follow it south until you reach Pennsylvania Avenue NW, where the White House is located.
