Getting There

• Public Bus

  From the Towson Town Center, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the corner of York Road and Joppa Road. Take the MTA Bus Route 10 towards Glen Burnie. Stay on the bus for approximately 45 minutes. This will take you directly to Annapolis. Once you arrive at the Annapolis Transit Center, transfer to the Annapolis Circulator (Route 1) heading towards the City Dock. Get off at the stop for the Kunta Kinte - Alex Haley Memorial, which is a short walk from the City Dock.

• Light Rail

  From Towson, walk to the nearest Light RailLink station, which is the Towson Town Center Light Rail station. Board the Light Rail towards BWI Airport. Ride for about 30 minutes and get off at the Baltimore Arena station. From there, transfer to the MARC Train (Penn Line) at the nearby Baltimore Penn Station, heading towards Washington, D.C. Get off at the Annapolis Junction station. From the station, take a local taxi or rideshare service to Kunta Kinte - Alex Haley Memorial, which is about a 15-minute drive.

• Walking

  If you are already in Annapolis, you can walk to the Kunta Kinte - Alex Haley Memorial. Start from the Maryland State House, head northwest on State Circle, then take a right onto Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with West Street. Turn left onto West Street and then take a right onto Compromise Street. Follow this street until you reach the memorial, which will be on your left near the waterfront.

• Bicycle Rental

  For a more active option, consider renting a bike in Towson. Head to a local bike rental shop and rent a bicycle. Follow the paths along the Towson Town Center to the Baltimore County bike trails. Use the bike trails to navigate towards Annapolis, which is about 10 miles away. Once you arrive in Annapolis, park your bike at a bike rack near the Kunta Kinte - Alex Haley Memorial, which is located by the waterfront.
