If you're starting from the Barnstable Village area, head east on Main Street towards the intersection with Route 149. Continue straight, and you will pass several local shops and eateries. After about a 10-minute walk, you will reach the intersection of Main Street and Route 149. Turn left onto Route 149 (also known as Barnstable Road) and continue walking for approximately another 15 minutes. You’ll see the Old Jail on your right at 41.7001° N, -70.2986° W. Public Transit
From the Barnstable Village area, you can catch the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority bus. Look for the bus stop near Main Street and Route 6A. Take the bus towards Hyannis and get off at the stop near the Barnstable Historical Society. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk. Head east on Main Street, then turn right onto Route 149, where you will find the Old Jail shortly on your right.
Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Barnstable Village. Start by heading east on Main Street towards Route 149. Once you reach Route 149, turn left and continue for about 1 mile. The Old Jail will be on your right-hand side at Barnstable, MA 02630. It’s a pleasant ride with scenic views along the way.
