Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the main entrance of Mohawk Trail State Forest. Head southeast on Mohawk Trail (MA-2) towards North Adams. Continue on MA-2 for approximately 20 miles. As you approach North Adams, take the exit for MA-8 South towards North Adams. Follow MA-8 South for about 2 miles until you reach a traffic light. Turn left onto Windsor Lake Road. Historic Valley Park will be on your right at 200 Windsor Lake Rd, North Adams, MA 01247. There is ample parking available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take a bus to North Adams. The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) provides services in the area. Once you arrive at the North Adams bus station, you can either take a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to Historic Valley Park. The distance from the bus station to the park is about 2 miles, and a taxi ride should take approximately 5-10 minutes. Make sure to check BRTA schedules in advance for any fare costs and timing.

• Biking

  For those who prefer biking, you can ride from the Mohawk Trail State Forest to Historic Valley Park. Use the same route as if you were driving, but be cautious as some parts of MA-2 may be busy with traffic. The ride is about 20 miles, so plan accordingly with water and snacks. There are bike racks available at Historic Valley Park for your convenience.

• Walking

  If you are already in a nearby area and wish to walk to Historic Valley Park, ensure you are on Windsor Lake Road. The park is located about a mile from the nearest residential area. Follow Windsor Lake Road until you reach the park entrance at 200 Windsor Lake Rd, North Adams, MA 01247. Walking may take approximately 20-25 minutes depending on your pace.
