From anywhere in the Berkshires, head towards Lee, Massachusetts. If you are starting from Great Barrington, take Route 7 North for approximately 12 miles until you reach Lee. If you're coming from Pittsfield, take Route 20 East for about 8 miles, then turn onto Route 7 South. Once in Lee, turn onto Woodland Road. Follow Woodland Road for about 1 mile, and you will find the entrance to October Mountain State Forest on your left at 317 Woodland Rd, Lee, MA 01238. There is no parking fee for the state forest.
