Car
If you're driving from Hyannis, take Main Street (Route 28) northwest towards Barnstable. After about 6 miles, turn left onto Sandy Neck Road, which is marked with signs for Sandy Neck Beach. Continue on Sandy Neck Road until you reach the entrance of Sandy Neck Beach. Note that there may be a parking fee, so be prepared for that. Once parked, follow the marked trail towards the lighthouse, which is approximately a 2-mile hike through beautiful sandy terrain.
Public Transportation + Hike
From downtown Barnstable, take the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) bus towards Hyannis and get off at the Barnstable Village stop. From there, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the Sandy Neck Beach entrance, which is about 4 miles away. Upon arrival at Sandy Neck Beach, be aware that there is a parking fee for access. You will then need to hike approximately 2 miles along the beach path to reach Sandy Neck Lighthouse.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider biking. Start from Barnstable Village and take Route 6A towards Sandy Neck. Once you reach Sandy Neck Road, follow it to the beach entrance. Make sure your bike is equipped for sandy terrain, and remember to pay the parking fee if you're bringing your bike to the beach. After parking, you'll need to hike approximately 2 miles to the lighthouse.
