If you're driving from Central Massachusetts, take I-90 E (Massachusetts Turnpike) towards Boston. Merge onto I-95 N and then take exit 26 for I-93 N towards Concord. Continue on I-93 N and take exit 26 for Storrow Drive towards Alewife. Follow Storrow Drive and take the exit towards Charles River Dam. Keep left to stay on Storrow Drive, then take the exit for Alewife via Fresh Pond Parkway. Merge onto Fresh Pond Parkway and then turn left onto Huron Avenue. Continue on Huron Avenue until you reach the intersection with Massachusetts Avenue. Turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue, and then turn left onto Kirkland Street. Harvard Yard will be on your right at 2 Kirkland St, Cambridge, MA 02138. Parking in the area may be limited and typically incurs a fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Harvard Yard via public transportation, start by locating a nearby bus or train station in Central Massachusetts. Take the MBTA commuter rail from your location to South Station in Boston. From South Station, transfer to the Red Line subway towards Alewife. Ride the train and disembark at the Harvard Square Station. Once you exit the station, walk northwest on Brattle Street, then turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Continue until you reach Kirkland Street, where you will turn left. Harvard Yard is located on your right at 2 Kirkland St, Cambridge, MA 02138. Note that the subway fare is approximately $2.40 for a one-way trip.
