Getting There

From downtown Gloucester, walk to the nearest public bus stop on Main Street. You can take the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) bus route that heads towards Newburyport. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the right timing. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of Ocean Blvd and Route 1A. From there, it’s about a 5-minute walk to North Hampton State Beach. Head east on Ocean Blvd, and you will see the beach entrance on your left.

If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Gloucester. Start by heading south on Washington Street until you reach Route 127. Turn left onto Route 127 and follow it until you reach the intersection with Route 1A. Turn right onto Route 1A, which will take you directly towards North Hampton. The beach is located at 27 Ocean Blvd, and you can park your bike at the designated bike racks near the entrance.

If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk, start from the center of Gloucester at the Cape Ann Museum. Head west on Pleasant Street, then turn left onto Washington Street. Continue until you reach Route 127 and turn left. Follow Route 127 until you reach Route 1A, then turn right. Keep walking straight for about 2.5 miles, and you'll arrive at North Hampton State Beach at 27 Ocean Blvd.
