    Getting There

    Walking

    From the center of Gloucester, head towards the Gloucester Harbor and locate the MBTA train station. Once there, purchase a ticket for the commuter rail to Boston. The train typically departs every hour. After about an hour's ride, you'll arrive at Boston's South Station. From South Station, exit and look for the Red Line subway entrance. Take the Red Line towards Alewife and transfer at Park Street Station to the Green Line towards Copley. Get off at Copley Station, and you will be in the Back Bay neighborhood. Walk towards Boylston Street, and you will see various shops, restaurants, and the beautiful architecture of Back Bay.

    Bus

    Starting from the main square in Gloucester, locate the nearest bus stop for the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) bus that heads to the nearest commuter rail station. You will need to take the CATA bus to the Rockport or Gloucester train station. Once at the train station, board the MBTA commuter rail to Boston. After arriving at South Station in Boston, transfer to the subway as described above. Take the Red Line to Park Street, then switch to the Green Line to get to Copley Station. From there, explore the Back Bay area.
