Walking
If you are in downtown Gloucester, head towards the Gloucester Fishermen's Memorial located at 75 Rocky Neck Ave. From there, walk straight to Rogers Street and turn left. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and follow it until you reach the Gloucester Harbor. Continue along the harbor until you see the road leading to Route 128. Take the bus or train to Salem, Massachusetts. Once you arrive in Salem, head to Essex Street, and you will find the Historic Gardner-Pingree House at 128 Essex Street.

From central Gloucester, walk to the nearest bus stop for the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) bus service. Take the 450 or 455 bus towards Salem. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Salem, get off at the Essex Street stop. The Historic Gardner-Pingree House is a short walk away at 128 Essex Street.
