To reach North Square from downtown Gloucester, start at the Gloucester Visitor Center located at 24 Harbor Loop. Exit the center and head southeast on Harbor Loop toward Western Ave. Continue straight onto Western Ave, which will merge into Washington Street. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach the bus stop at Washington Street and Main Street. From here, take the MBTA bus #450 toward Boston. This bus will take you to the Alewife Station in Cambridge. Once at Alewife, transfer to the Red Line subway towards Ashmont. Ride for 5 stops until you reach Park Street Station in downtown Boston. From Park Street, exit and walk towards the Haymarket area. Head northeast on Park Street toward Tremont Street, then turn left onto Tremont Street. Continue walking until you reach the North End area. North Square is a short walk from the Haymarket area, located at N Square, Boston, MA 02113.

The most common route to take is the #450 bus from the Gloucester Station to the Alewife Station in Cambridge. Once you reach Alewife, transfer to the Red Line subway toward Alewife. Travel to Park Street Station, which is the heart of Boston. From Park Street, exit the station and follow the signs to Haymarket. Walk northeast on Park Street, then turn left onto Tremont Street. Continue walking until you arrive at North Square, which is located in the North End of Boston.
