Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Gloucester, head east on Main Street towards the harbor. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington Street and keep walking until you reach the end of the street. Turn right onto Eastern Avenue and follow it straight. Once you reach the intersection with Harbor Loop, turn left and continue straight until you reach the waterfront. You'll find the ferry terminal here. Take the ferry to Boston, which will provide a scenic view of the coastline. Once you arrive in Boston, disembark and walk towards Charles Street. Continue walking along Charles Street until you reach the Public Garden located at 4 Charles Street, Boston, MA 02116.

• Public Transportation (Bus & Subway)

  From Gloucester, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. Take the MBTA bus #441 towards the Alewife station. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the Alewife subway station. From Alewife, take the Red Line train towards Ashmont. Ride the train for approximately 25 minutes until you reach Park Street Station in downtown Boston. After exiting the train, follow the signs for the Green Line and transfer to the Green Line C or D train. Get off at the Arlington stop, and walk a short distance to the Public Garden, located at 4 Charles Street, Boston, MA 02116.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in Gloucester. Head southeast on Main Street towards the waterfront. Follow the bike paths along the coast until you reach the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to Boston, and once you arrive, follow the bike lanes along Charles Street.
