Walking
If you are starting from Gloucester downtown, head towards the Gloucester commuter rail station. From the station, take the train towards Boston (approximately 1 hour ride). Once you arrive at South Station in Boston, exit the station and walk to the Red Line subway station (follow signs for the subway). Take the Red Line towards Alewife and get off at Broadway Station. Once you exit Broadway Station, walk east on Broadway Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach Shawmut Avenue. Turn left on Shawmut Avenue and continue walking for about 0.2 miles. St Stephen's Episcopal Church will be on your right at 419 Shawmut Ave.

Begin at Gloucester downtown and walk to the nearest bus stop for the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) bus line. Take the bus to the nearest train station (Gloucester Station) and board a train to Boston. Upon arriving at South Station, transfer to the subway. Take the Red Line towards Alewife and get off at Broadway Station. After exiting Broadway Station, walk east for about 0.5 miles along Broadway Street, then turn left onto Shawmut Avenue. Continue for another 0.2 miles until you see St Stephen's Episcopal Church at 419 Shawmut Ave on your right.
