Car
If you're traveling by car, start by getting on MA-91 North from your location in Hampden County. Follow signs for MA-91 N toward Greenfield. After about 15 miles, take exit 3B to merge onto I-90 E toward Boston. Continue on I-90 E for approximately 30 miles and take exit 3 for US-20 W toward Russell. After merging onto US-20 W, follow this road for about 6 miles. The Jacob's Ladder Trail will be on your right, at coordinates 42.1594° N, 72.8190° W. Look for a parking area along the roadside.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) bus service. You can catch the PVTA bus route 39 at various locations throughout Hampden County. Make sure to check the schedule for bus times. Ride the bus until you reach the intersection of US-20 and MA-20 in Russell. From there, you will need to walk about 1 mile to reach the Jacob's Ladder Trail. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes as the path may not always have sidewalks.
