Bus
From downtown Lowell, head to the nearest bus stop on Merrimack Street. Take the Lowell Transit Authority bus route 1 towards the Gallagher Terminal. Ride the bus until you reach the Gallagher Terminal. Once there, transfer to the MBTA bus route 67 towards Alewife Station. After about 30 minutes, get off at the 'Haymarket' stop in Boston. From there, walk to the Government Center subway station and take the Green Line (C or D train) towards Riverside. Get off at the Park Street Station. Transfer to the Red Line (towards Alewife) and get off at the Downtown Crossing Station. From there, walk to Beacon Street; the Massachusetts State House is located at 24 Beacon St, just a short 10-minute walk away.

Start at the Lowell Station, located at 20 Thorndike Street. Board the MBTA commuter rail on the Lowell Line towards North Station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at North Station, follow the signs to the Haymarket subway station. Take the Green Line (C or D train) towards Riverside and get off at Park Street Station. Transfer to the Red Line (towards Alewife) and get off at Downtown Crossing Station. From there, walk to Beacon Street; the Massachusetts State House is just a 10-minute walk from the station.

Take the Alewife subway train to Park Street and then transfer to the Red Line towards Ashmont. Get off at Downtown Crossing Station.
