From the center of Lowell, head southeast on Middlesex Street towards Merrimack Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Dutton Street. Turn left onto Dutton Street and walk for another 0.3 miles until you reach the train station, Lowell Station. From there, take a commuter rail train towards Boston. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the South Station in Boston, exit the station and find the red line subway entrance. Take the red line towards Alewife and travel for 3 stops. Get off at the Park Street station, then transfer to the Green Line D branch. Board the train towards Riverside and travel for 2 stops, getting off at the Museum of Fine Arts station. Exit the station and walk south on Huntington Avenue for about 5 minutes until you reach the Museum of Fine Arts at 465 Huntington Ave.

Ride for about 20 minutes and get off at the stop at the intersection of Route 3 and 495. From there, transfer to the MBTA bus number 350 towards Boston. After about 45 minutes, get off at the stop on Huntington Avenue. Walk south for about 5 minutes to reach the Museum of Fine Arts at 465 Huntington Ave.
