Getting There

    From Newburyport, head south on State Street toward Merrimac Street. Continue onto High Street and then take a right onto Route 1A S. Stay on Route 1A for approximately 8 miles. You will pass through scenic coastal areas, enjoy the views! After reaching Ipswich, turn left onto Central Street, then take a right onto Argilla Road. Continue straight until you reach Refuge Road. Sandy Point State Reservation will be on your left. Note that there is usually no entrance fee, but check for any parking fees when you arrive.

    Start at the Newburyport MBTA station. Take the commuter rail service toward North Station in Boston. Get off at the Ipswich station.
