Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car within The Islands, head to the nearest ferry terminal that services Boston. The most common routes are from Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. Once you arrive in Boston, follow the signs toward Downtown. You will want to drive to 206 Washington St, Boston, MA 02109. Parking can be challenging in the area; consider using a parking garage nearby, such as the One Boston Place Garage. Expect to pay around $10-$20 for parking.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a ferry from either Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard to Boston. After disembarking, you can walk to the nearest subway station or take a bus. The closest subway station is 'Government Center' on the Green Line. From there, it’s a short walk to Old State House located at 206 Washington St. If you prefer buses, the MBTA offers several routes that stop near Washington St. The fare for the ferry is approximately $20-$30 round trip, and subway/bus fares are around $2.40 each way.

• Walking

  If you are already in downtown Boston after using a ferry, the Old State House is easily accessible on foot. From the Government Center subway station, head southwest on Court St towards Washington St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Washington St, then turn right. The Old State House will be on your left at 206 Washington St. This walk should take around 10-15 minutes.
