Getting There

• Bus

  From Waltham, walk to the nearest bus stop for the 70 or 70A bus route, which can be accessed on Main Street at the Waltham Common. Board the bus heading towards Alewife Station. Stay on the bus for approximately 25-30 minutes until you reach Alewife Station. From there, transfer to the Alewife to Alewife Train Line (Red Line) towards Ashmont/Braintree. Get off at Downtown Crossing Station, which will take about 15 minutes. Once you exit the station, walk towards Washington Street, then take a left onto Atlantic Avenue. Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park will be on your right after a short walk.

• Train

  Make your way to the Waltham MBTA Commuter Rail Station located on Moody Street. Purchase a ticket to South Station on the Fitchburg Line. The train ride will take about 25 minutes. Upon arriving at South Station, exit the train and follow the signs to the Atlantic Avenue exit. Once you are outside, turn left onto Atlantic Avenue and walk for about 10 minutes. You will find Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park on your left.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Waltham. Start by heading south on Main Street towards the Charles River. Follow the bike paths along the river towards Boston. Continue along the river until you reach the area near the Museum of Science, then cross the Charles River via the bridge. After crossing, follow the bike lanes to Atlantic Avenue. After roughly 45 minutes of cycling, you will reach Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, which will be on your right side.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and would like to walk, start at the Waltham Common and head south on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Moody Street and cross the bridge over the Charles River. Keep going straight on the path that leads towards Boston. After approximately 2 miles, you will reach the downtown area. Navigate to Atlantic Avenue by following the signs towards the waterfront. It will take about 1.5 to 2 hours to walk there, and you'll enjoy scenic views along the way.
