Bus
From Waltham, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main St at Waltham City Hall. Take the MBTA 553 bus towards Alewife Station. Ride for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the Alewife Station. From Alewife Station, transfer to the Red Line subway towards Ashmont and ride for about 30 minutes. Get off at Park Street Station. Finally, exit the station and walk about 5 minutes east along Tremont St, then turn left onto Boylston St. Continue for about 2 minutes, and you will reach Edgar Allan Poe Square at 176 Boylston St.
Train
Walk to the Waltham MBTA Commuter Rail Station located at 75 Crescent St. Board the Fitchburg Line train towards North Station. Ride the train for approximately 30 minutes and get off at the North Station stop. From North Station, walk to the Haymarket subway station (about 10 minutes). Take the Green Line (C or E branch) towards the Heath Street or the Green Line (B branch) towards the Boston College. Ride for about 5 minutes and get off at the Copley station. Walk about 5 minutes east along Boylston St to reach Edgar Allan Poe Square at 176 Boylston St.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service. Start biking from Waltham City Center towards the Charles River Bike Path. Follow the bike path along the river until you reach the Arsenal Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on the bike path until you reach the intersection with Storrow Drive. Follow the path towards downtown Boston, passing through Back Bay. Continue along the bike path until you reach Boylston St. Turn left on Boylston St and bike for another 2 minutes to reach Edgar Allan Poe Square at 176 Boylston St.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and want to walk, start from the Waltham Common. Head east on Main St and continue straight for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Moody St. Turn left onto Moody St and walk for another half-mile. When you reach the Charles River, take a right onto the Riverwalk. Follow the walk along the river until you reach the Arsenal Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on the path towards Boston. You will eventually reach Boylston St. Turn left on Boylston St and walk for about 10 minutes to reach Edgar Allan Poe Square at 176 Boylston St.
