    Public Transit

    From Waltham, walk to the Waltham MBTA station. Take the Fitchburg Line train towards North Station in Boston. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at North Station. Once you exit North Station, walk to the Haymarket station on the Green Line (C or E train). Board the train and travel towards Park Street. At Park Street, transfer to the Boston Common and exit the train. From there, walk towards Beacon Hill and follow the signs to the Public Garden, which is about a 10-minute walk.

    Bus

    Walk to the nearest bus stop and take the #70 or #70A bus towards Alewife. Ride for about 20 minutes until you reach Alewife station. Transfer to the Alewife subway station and take the Red Line towards Ashmont. After about 20 minutes, transfer at Park Street to the Green Line towards Government Center. Get off at the Arlington Street stop, which is a short walk from the Public Garden.

    If you feel adventurous and the weather is nice, you can walk from Waltham to the Public Garden. The distance is about 10 miles, and it will take you approximately 3-4 hours. Start by heading south on Main Street, then take a left on Waverley Oaks Road. Continue straight until you reach the Charles River. Follow the river path towards Boston.
