Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Waltham, head to the nearest bus stop for the MBTA. You can catch the #70 or #70A bus toward Alewife Station. Ride the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the Alewife Station. Once there, transfer to the #67 bus toward Salem and continue for approximately 45 minutes until you reach the stop at N Washington Square in Salem. Salem Common will be a short walk from the bus stop.

• Train

  Make your way to the Waltham train station located at 200 South St. Take the Fitchburg Line train toward North Station in Boston. After about 25 minutes, disembark at the North Station. From there, take the Orange Line subway toward Oak Grove and ride for 4 stops until you reach Haymarket Station. Transfer to the #450 bus toward Salem and ride for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at N Washington Square, and Salem Common will be nearby.

• Walking

  If you are in central Waltham, you can walk to the Waltham train station at 200 South St., which is about a 15-minute walk. Once at the station, follow the train guidance provided above to reach Salem. Upon arriving in Salem, you can walk to Salem Common, which is located at N Washington Square, approximately 0.5 miles from the train station.

• Rideshare

  Use a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft. Simply input 'N Washington Square, Salem, MA' as your destination. The ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic conditions. This is a convenient option if you prefer direct transport without the need to navigate public transport.
