If you are in Waltham, start at the Waltham City Hall located at 610 Main St, Waltham, MA 02452. Head south on Main St toward Pine St. Turn left onto Pine St and continue for about 0.3 miles until you reach the Waltham Train Station. Take the commuter rail from Waltham Station towards South Station. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at South Station in Boston, exit the station and head towards the Red Line subway. Follow the signs to the 'Park Street' station. Take the Red Line train towards Alewife and get off at Park Street Station. From Park Street, walk towards the Boston Common and then take a left onto Tremont St. Continue until you reach Charles St. The Swan Boats are located at 4 Charles St, just a short walk from the Boston Common.

From Waltham, start at the Waltham City Hall and walk to the nearest bus stop for the MBTA 553 or 554 bus route. Board the bus in the direction of Alewife Station. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Get off at Alewife Station and transfer to the Alewife subway station. Take the Red Line towards Ashmont/Braintree and get off at Park Street Station. From Park Street, exit the station and walk towards the Boston Common.
