From Atar, take the N2 highway heading northwest towards Chinguetti. After approximately 90 km, turn right onto a smaller road leading towards the desert. The journey will take about two hours. Public Transportation (Bush Taxi)

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bush taxi (shared taxi) from Atar to Chinguetti. These taxis leave regularly from the central taxi station in Atar. The fare is typically around 500 ouguiya. Once in Chinguetti, you can hire a local guide with a 4x4 vehicle to take you to Ben Amera. It is advisable to negotiate the fare beforehand, which may range between 2000 to 4000 ouguiya depending on the distance and time spent.
