Cap Malheureux: The Jewel of Mauritius

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Grand Baie, head north along the coastal road (Coastal Road). As you walk, you will pass several shops and restaurants. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Cap Malheureux. At this point, you will see signs indicating the direction to Cap Malheureux. Turn left onto Route Cotiere, and continue walking for another 1 kilometer. You will pass through a residential area, and soon you will reach Bain Boeuf Public Beach, located in Cap Malheureux.

• Public Bus

  From Grand Baie, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located near the Grand Baie Bazaar. Take the bus heading towards Cap Malheureux. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Cap Malheureux, get off the bus at the Cap Malheureux stop. From there, walk towards the beach, which is just a short 5-minute walk away. Follow the signs towards Bain Boeuf Public Beach, and you will find it easily.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Grand Baie to Bain Boeuf Public Beach. You can find taxis near the Grand Baie Bazaar or along the main road. Tell the driver that you want to go to Bain Boeuf Public Beach in Cap Malheureux. The journey will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, the beach will be right in front of you.
