Bus
To reach Île aux Cerfs from Port Louis, start by heading to the bus station located on the corner of Barracks Street and Royal Street. Take the bus heading to Trou d'Eau Douce, which is the nearest coastal village to Île aux Cerfs. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Trou d'Eau Douce, look for the boat services that operate from the beach—these will take you directly to Île aux Cerfs. The boat ride is about 15-20 minutes.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Port Louis to Trou d'Eau Douce. Simply ask the driver to take you to the boat terminal for Île aux Cerfs. The taxi ride will take about 1 hour depending on traffic. Once you arrive, purchase a ticket for the boat service to the island, which takes around 15-20 minutes.
Walking and Boat
For the adventurous, you could walk to the nearest bus stop at the Port Louis Waterfront and take the bus to Trou d'Eau Douce, as described earlier. Alternatively, if you are near the coastline, you can walk along the coastal path to reach Trou d'Eau Douce, but this is a longer trek. Once there, board a boat to Île aux Cerfs.
