Getting there

Car

If you are driving to Baladirou Beach, start from the main town of Port Mathurin. Head south on the Route du Lagon (also known as Route 1) towards Grand Baie. After approximately 10 km, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork to continue on Route 1. Follow the signs for Baladirou Beach, which will direct you onto a smaller road leading directly to the beach. Parking is available near the beach entrance. Note that rental cars may cost around MUR 1,500 to MUR 2,500 per day.

Public Transportation (Bus)

To reach Baladirou Beach via public transportation, make your way to the main bus station in Port Mathurin. Look for a bus heading towards Grand Baie. The fare is approximately MUR 30. Once you reach the Grand Baie area, you will need to disembark and catch a local taxi or a minibus heading specifically to Baladirou. This last leg of the journey may cost an additional MUR 50 to MUR 100. The total travel time may be around 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on connections.

Taxi

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from any location in Rodrigues. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Baladirou Beach. This option offers convenience and may take approximately 30 minutes from Port Mathurin, depending on traffic. Taxi fares can vary, but expect to pay around MUR 700 to MUR 1,000 for a one-way trip.
