If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Mamoudzou, the capital of Mayotte. Head south on the RN1 road towards Kani Keli. Continue driving for approximately 25 kilometers. As you enter the village of Kani Keli, look for signs directing you to Mont Choungui. The drive will take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. There are no parking fees at the base of Mont Choungui.

To reach Mont Choungui by public transportation, take a taxi-brousse (shared taxi) from Mamoudzou to Kani Keli. Taxi-brousses can be found at the main bus station in Mamoudzou. The fare is usually around 1,000 to 1,500 francs (approximately $2-3). The journey will take around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you arrive in Kani Keli, you may need to walk about 1 kilometer towards the base of Mont Choungui, following local signs.
