Getting There

• Car

  To reach Pointe Mahabou by car from Dzaoudzi, start by heading south on the main road (Route Nationale 1) towards Mamoudzou. Continue driving for approximately 10-15 minutes until you reach the intersection for Kaweni. Turn right onto the road leading to Kaweni, and follow this road for about 5 minutes. You will see signs directing you towards Pointe Mahabou. Once you arrive at the designated parking area, park your vehicle and follow the walking path that leads directly to Pointe Mahabou. Note that there may be a small parking fee, so keep some cash ready.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transport, take a local bus from Dzaoudzi to Mamoudzou. Buses frequently depart from the main bus terminal in Dzaoudzi. The bus ride will take about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Mamoudzou, you can switch to another bus heading towards Kaweni. Keep an eye out for the bus that displays 'Kaweni' as its destination. After about 10 minutes on this bus, get off at the stop for Pointe Mahabou. From there, it’s a short walk to the actual viewpoint. Bus fares are usually around 1-2 euros, so have some cash on hand for the fare.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Dzaoudzi to Pointe Mahabou. Taxis are available at various points in Dzaoudzi, including the airport and central areas. The drive will take approximately 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should cost around 10-15 euros. Once you arrive, the taxi will drop you off near the entrance to Pointe Mahabou, and you can walk the rest of the way.
