If you are driving, start from Mamoudzou city center. Take the Avenue du Général de Gaulle heading west. Continue straight for about 2 km, then turn left onto Route de Kawéni. Follow this road for approximately 1 km until you reach BP 676 - Kawéni, where the Mayotte Prefecture is located. There is parking available nearby, but be mindful of local traffic regulations.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Mayotte Prefecture by public transport, take any local bus that travels towards Kawéni from the Mamoudzou bus station. Buses are frequent and usually depart every 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you are going to 'Préfecture de Mayotte' or 'Kawéni'. The journey should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Kawéni stop, walk approximately 300 meters to BP 676, where the Prefecture is located.

For a more direct route, you can take a taxi from any point in Mamoudzou. Simply tell the driver you want to go to 'BP 676 - Kawéni'. The fare should range from €5 to €10, depending on your starting location and the time of day. The taxi ride will take about 10 minutes.
