If you are starting from the central area of Acapulco Tradicional, head east towards Avenida Cuauhtémoc. Walk along Avenida Cuauhtémoc until you reach the intersection with Calle 18 de Julio. Turn left onto Calle 18 de Julio and continue walking for about 400 meters. Fortín Álvarez will be on your right at 18 de Julio 20, Barrios Historicos.

You can take a local bus from various points in Acapulco Tradicional. Look for buses heading towards Barrios Historicos. Board the bus and ask the driver to let you know when you reach '18 de Julio'. It should cost around 10-15 MXN. Once you get off, walk about 50 meters south on Calle 18 de Julio, and Fortín Álvarez will be on your left.
