Getting There

• Bus

  From your hotel or starting point in Cancun, walk to the nearest bus stop along the main avenue, Avenida Tulum or Boulevard Kukulcan. Look for a bus marked 'Hotel Zone' or 'Kukulcan Boulevard'. These buses frequently run and will take you directly to the Hotel Zone. Once on board, stay on the bus for approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Request the driver to let you off at the stop closest to Playa Tortuga, which is generally near Plaza La Isla or the area around Kukulcan Boulevard. From there, walk towards the beach, following the signs for Playa Tortuga.

• Taxi

  You can easily hail a taxi from anywhere in Cancun. Inform the driver that you would like to go to Playa Tortuga on Kukulcan Boulevard. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on your starting location and traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before getting in or ask if they use a meter. Once you arrive at Playa Tortuga, you will be right at the beach entrance.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to ride a bicycle, you can rent one from various rental shops throughout Cancun. Head towards Kukulcan Boulevard, which is a main route through the Hotel Zone. Follow the bike lanes along the boulevard, making sure to stay safe and signal turns. Ride past popular locations like Plaza La Isla. Playa Tortuga will be on your right side as you approach the beach areas. Look for signs directing you to the beach access points.
