    If you are driving, start on the major highway from Mexico City (Carretera Federal 15D). Head west toward Toluca, and then take the exit for the 15 to continue toward Morelia. As you approach Morelia, follow signs for Uruapan and then continue on the 37. After about 2.5 hours of driving from Mexico City, you will reach the town of Angangueo. From Angangueo, take the road toward the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve. Follow the signs for 'Mariposa Monarca' as you navigate the winding roads up the hills. Expect to pay a small entrance fee to the reserve, usually around 60 pesos per person.
