From San Cristóbal de las Casas, take a local bus from the main bus terminal (Terminal de Autobuses) to the municipality of San Juan Chamula. The fare is approximately 10 pesos. Once in San Juan Chamula, ask for the bus to 'Grutas del Mamut' or 'Cueva del Mamut'. The fare for this second leg is also around 10 pesos. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to Grutas del Mamut.

Collective Taxi (Colectivo)
From the central plaza in San Cristóbal de las Casas, you can take a colectivo to San Juan Chamula. Collectivos are shared taxis that leave when they are full. The cost is around 15-20 pesos. Once in San Juan Chamula, transfer to another colectivo or ask locals for transportation options to Grutas del Mamut.

If you are feeling adventurous and the distance is manageable, you can walk from San Juan Chamula to Grutas del Mamut. The hike is about 6 kilometers and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow the main road out of San Juan Chamula towards the cave, keeping an eye out for signs directing you to Grutas del Mamut.
