Getting There

• Bus

  From San Cristóbal de las Casas, you can take a bus to Palenque. Head to the ADO bus terminal located on Calle 20 de Noviembre. Purchase a ticket to Palenque, which is about a 5-hour journey. Buses typically depart every hour. Upon arrival at the Palenque bus station, you will be greeted with signs pointing towards the archaeological site, and it is a short taxi ride or 20-minute walk to the entrance.

• Bus

  If you are in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, go to the ADO bus terminal, and buy a ticket to Palenque. The bus ride takes about 5 hours. After reaching the Palenque bus station, you can take a taxi or walk to the archaeological site, following the signs that lead you to the entrance.

• Collective Taxi (Colectivo)

  From San Cristóbal de las Casas, you can also take a colectivo to Palenque. Head to the colectivo terminal on Calle 16 de Septiembre, where you can find shared taxis heading to Palenque. This is a faster option than the bus and takes approximately 4 hours. After arriving at the Palenque terminal, take a taxi or walk to the archaeological site.

• Collective Taxi (Colectivo)

  From Palenque, a colectivo can also be taken from nearby towns like Ocosingo or other locations in Chiapas. Check with local drivers at the respective terminals for availability and routes. The trip duration will vary but typically takes around 3-4 hours depending on traffic and distance.
