Boat
To reach Isla Ixtapa from Ixtapa, head to the main marina located at the end of Paseo de Ixtapa. Look for the ticket booth where you can purchase a round-trip ticket to Isla Ixtapa. The boats typically depart every 30 minutes, especially during peak tourist season. The boat ride takes about 10-15 minutes. Ensure you keep your ticket safe as you will need it for the return trip. The stunning views of the coastline make this journey a delightful start to your adventure.
Public Transport
If you're staying in Zihuatanejo, you can take a local bus to Ixtapa. Board a bus at the Zihuatanejo bus terminal that heads towards Ixtapa. The ride is approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Ixtapa, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the marina. After reaching the marina, purchase your boat ticket to Isla Ixtapa as described above.
Taxi
For a more direct option, you can take a taxi from your location in Ixtapa or Zihuatanejo to the marina in Ixtapa. Make sure to agree on a price before getting in, as taxis do not have meters.
