From your location in Zihuatanejo, head to the main waterfront area known as 'El Paseo de Zihuatanejo.' Look for the dock where water taxis operate towards La Isla De Ixtapa. Tickets can be purchased at the dock, costing approximately 60-80 MXN per person (around $3-4 USD). Water taxis typically run every 30 minutes from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes, and you'll enjoy scenic views of the coastline.

Public Bus
If you prefer a land route, you can take a local bus from Zihuatanejo to Ixtapa. Head to the main bus stop near the market (Mercado Municipal). Buses to Ixtapa cost around 10-15 MXN (about $0.50-0.75 USD) and run frequently throughout the day. Once you arrive in Ixtapa, ask the driver or locals for directions to the nearest boat dock for La Isla De Ixtapa. From there, you will need to take a water taxi to reach the island.

Walking to the Dock
If you're staying close to the waterfront in Zihuatanejo, you can walk to the dock. Just follow the main road (Calle Cuauhtémoc) towards the beach, then turn left onto the waterfront promenade. Continue walking until you see the dock area with boats heading to La Isla De Ixtapa. This is a pleasant walk and will take you about 15-20 minutes from central Zihuatanejo.
