Getting there

Car

If you are driving, from the nearest town, Frontera Corozal, take the road towards the Lacandon Jungle. Follow the signs for the 'Zona Lacandona.' After approximately 30 km, you will reach the entrance of the Miramar area. There may be a small entrance fee, typically around 20-50 MXN, so keep some cash handy. Once in the area, look for signs directing you to Miramar Lagoon. It's important to note that the last few kilometers may involve unpaved roads; a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.

Public Transportation

From Frontera Corozal, you can take a local colectivo (shared taxi) heading towards the Lacandon Jungle. The fare is usually around 50-100 MXN per person. Ask the driver to drop you off at 'Miramar' or the nearest stop to the lagoon. Once you arrive, you may need to walk a short distance or ask locals for directions to the lagoon itself. Be prepared for a potential wait for the colectivo to fill up before it departs.

Hiking

For the adventurous, if you are already within the Lacandon Jungle, there are some trails leading to Miramar. Make sure to have a local guide or a map, as the trails can be confusing.
