Once you reach Palenque, merge onto Mexican Federal Highway 199 towards Tulum. Continue on Highway 199 until you reach the Tulum exit. Follow the signs towards Zona Hotelera Tulum. Bus
From Lacandon Jungle, you will need to take a local taxi to the nearest bus terminal in Palenque. The taxi fare should be around 200-300 MXN. Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for a bus headed to Tulum. The bus ride will take approximately 8-10 hours, depending on the service. It is advisable to check the schedule in advance as buses may not run frequently. The ticket price is usually around 400-600 MXN.
Shared Van (Colectivo)
Similar to the bus option, take a taxi from Lacandon Jungle to Palenque's bus terminal. From there, look for a shared van (colectivo) service that goes to Tulum. Colectivos leave when full, so you may have to wait a bit. The ride will take about 6-8 hours. The cost is typically around 350-500 MXN. This option may be quicker than the bus as it makes fewer stops.
