Getting There

• Walking

  If you are staying in the downtown area of Matamoros, start by heading south on Calle Sexta. Walk towards the intersection with Calle Guerrero. Once you reach Calle Guerrero, turn left and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Calle Cuarta. Turn right onto Calle Cuarta. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Calle Santos Degollado. From there, turn left and walk straight; the Fort Casamata Museum will be on your left at the corner of Calle Santos Degollado and Calle Guatemala.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  Find a local bus heading towards the Modelo neighborhood. You can catch these buses from various points in downtown Matamoros. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Calle Santos Degollado. Once you get off the bus, walk towards Calle Guatemala; the Fort Casamata Museum is located at the intersection of Calle Santos Degollado and Calle Guatemala. It should be an easy walk from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from various rental shops around Matamoros. Start from the city center and head south on Calle Sexta. Continue to Calle Guerrero, then turn left. After a short ride, turn right onto Calle Cuarta and keep cycling straight until you reach Calle Santos Degollado. Turn left onto Calle Santos Degollado, and the museum will be on your left at the corner with Calle Guatemala.
