From the city center of Oaxaca, head to the 'Central de Autobuses' (Bus Station) located on the corner of Avenida Universidad and Calle de la Independencia. You can take a local taxi or a short walk if you're close enough. Once at the bus station, look for the buses labeled 'Monte Albán' or 'San Antonio Arrazola'. The fare is usually around 10-20 pesos. Buses leave frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Inform the driver that you are going to Monte Albán, and they will drop you off at the entrance.

Collective Taxi (Colectivo)
From the Zócalo (main square) in Oaxaca, find a colectivo (shared taxi) that goes to Monte Albán. You can find these collective taxis on Avenida Juárez, near the corner of Calle de la Merced. The fare is generally around 40-50 pesos per person. Once the taxi is full, which usually takes a few minutes, the driver will take you directly to Monte Albán. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes.

Walking and Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous and are reasonably fit, you can hike to Monte Albán from the city. Start at the Zócalo and head west on Calle de 5 de Febrero until you reach the intersection with Avenida de la Independencia. Continue on Avenida de la Independencia, which will eventually lead you uphill towards Monte Albán. The hike will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and you'll enjoy beautiful views of the valley along the way. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
