Another option is to take a 'collectivo' (shared taxi). From the city center, walk to the area near the 'Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros' where the collectivos to Mitla depart. They are usually parked near the bus station. The collectivo ride will be quicker than the bus, taking about 30 to 45 minutes. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are heading to Mitla before you get in.

If you're staying near the city center, you can take a leisurely walk to the bus station and enjoy the local sights along the way.
