Car
If you're traveling by car, start by taking the nearest highway that heads towards San Diego, such as the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) or Interstate 5. Follow the signs for San Diego and merge onto I-5 South. Continue driving for approximately 75 miles. Once in San Diego, take exit 17B for Harbor Drive toward downtown San Diego, which will lead you directly to the waterfront area of San Diego Bay. If you need parking, look for public parking garages near the bay area, with costs typically ranging from $10 to $25 per day.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by finding the nearest bus or train station in your current location along the Pacific Coast. Use the Greyhound or Amtrak services to reach San Diego. Once you arrive at the San Diego station, you can take the San Diego Trolley (Blue Line) from the Santa Fe Depot station. Board the trolley heading towards UC San Diego. Get off at the 'Seaport Village' stop, which is a short walk to San Diego Bay. A single ride on the trolley costs approximately $2.50.
Rideshare
An alternative option is to use rideshare services like Uber or Lyft. Simply input 'San Diego Bay' as your destination. Depending on your starting point along the Pacific Coast, the fare may vary, generally ranging from $30 to $70. This is a convenient option if you prefer a direct route without the hassle of parking.
Use San Diego Bay as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
