Car
If you are driving from Puerto Vallarta, take Highway 200 south for approximately 30 km (about 18 miles). Look for the signs for 'Yelapa' and 'Boca de Tomatlán.' Once you reach Boca de Tomatlán, park your car in the designated parking area. Be aware that there may be a small parking fee (around 50 MXN). From Boca de Tomatlán, you cannot drive directly to Yelapa as it is only accessible by boat or hiking.
Boat
After parking in Boca de Tomatlán, you will need to take a water taxi to Yelapa. The water taxis operate regularly throughout the day, and tickets can be purchased at the dock. The fare is typically around 100-150 MXN per person for a one-way trip. The boat ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Yelapa beach, you can walk towards the village, where you will find signs directing you to the waterfall.
Hiking
From the beach in Yelapa, follow the path that leads away from the village towards the waterfall. The hike is approximately 30-40 minutes and is relatively easy but can be steep in some areas. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. There is no fee to access the waterfall area.
