From the center of Playa del Carmen, head east towards the beach. You can start at the famous Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue). Walk down Fifth Avenue until you reach the beach and then turn left (north) towards Calle 1 Norte. Continue walking along the beach path for around 2.5 kilometers until you reach the end of the beach. Playa Xcalacoco is located at Xcalacoco 7, which is a bit secluded and may require some exploration off the main path.

Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Playa del Carmen. Start at Fifth Avenue and head towards the beach. Cycle north along the beachfront path. Continue for approximately 2.5 kilometers until you reach the area near Xcalacoco 7. You may need to explore a bit off the main path to find the exact entrance to Playa Xcalacoco, which is located in a quieter section of the coastline.

Find a collectivo (shared van) stop in Playa del Carmen, which is typically located along 5th Avenue or near ADO bus station. Take a collectivo heading towards Puerto Morelos. Inform the driver to drop you off at Xcalacoco, which is a known stop. Once you get off, walk towards the beach, and you will find Playa Xcalacoco located at Xcalacoco 7.
