Getting There

    From Puebla, head to the Estrella de Oro bus terminal, which is located at Avenida 16 de Septiembre 1520. You can take a taxi or a local bus to get there. At the terminal, purchase a ticket to Amecameca, which is the closest town to Iztaccihuatl. Buses to Amecameca run frequently, so you should not have to wait long. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.

    Once you arrive in Amecameca, you need to get to the base of Iztaccihuatl. Look for local taxis or shared vans (known as 'colectivos') that head towards the Iztaccihuatl-Popocatépetl National Park.
