If you prefer a more direct route, take a taxi from your location in Puerto Vallarta. Simply tell the driver 'Playa Punta Negra' or 'El Nogalito.' The ride should take around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Confirm the fare before you leave, which should be around 150-250 pesos. The taxi will drop you off at the entrance to the beach area, from where you can walk a short distance to the water.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle from a local shop in Puerto Vallarta. Head south on Avenida Francisco Medina Ascencio, then follow the coastline road towards El Nogalito. The ride is approximately 5-6 kilometers and offers beautiful views. Once you reach El Nogalito, look for signs to Playa Punta Negra. There is a small path leading down to the beach from the main road.
Walking Tour
If you're feeling energetic and adventurous, you can walk to Playa Punta Negra from the Romantic Zone in Puerto Vallarta. Start at the Malecón (boardwalk) and head south along the beach until you reach the southern end of the city. From there, you'll have to navigate up to the main road and follow Avenida Francisco Medina Ascencio south. It is a long walk (around 7-8 kilometers) and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, but you can enjoy the scenic views along the way. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water!
