Getting There

  • Bicycle

    From the center of Tulum, head north on Avenida Tulum towards the Tulum Ruins. Once you reach the intersection with Calle Centauro Sur, turn left. Continue straight until you reach the main road, where you will turn right onto the highway (Carretera Tulum - Coba). Follow the highway for about 40 minutes. Look for signs indicating Coba, and turn left when you reach the entrance to the archaeological site.

  • Collectivo

    From Tulum town center, walk to the collectivo station located on Avenida Tulum. Look for a collectivo heading to Coba; they are small shared vans that leave when full. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Coba, you will be dropped off near the entrance of the archaeological site. Just follow the signs to the entrance.

  • Walking

    Walking to Coba from Tulum is not recommended due to the distance (approximately 45 km). However, if you're feeling adventurous, you could walk to the highway (Carretera Tulum - Coba) and then try to catch a collectivo or hitch a ride from passing vehicles.
