Tour 4X1 Visit Tulum, Coba, Cenote & Playa del Carmen. With lunch

Resonable Experience, But Coba Was Skipped & Lunch Was Extremely Late

Overall Verdict: An average tour with an overambitious schedule. We did not end up visiting Coba—the guide asked the my party and we agreed to skip it, though in reality, the schedule would never have accommodated it anyway. The cenote swimming was fun and lunch was surprisingly good, but the timing and schedule pacing need serious improvement. Tour Guide (3.5–4/5): Decent service, but lost points for two main reasons: the extremely late lunch timing and limited English. His explanations in English were far less detailed than what he shared with Spanish speakers. Transportation (3.5/5): The air conditioner keeps dripping water. It was a little when the outside weather was good. It drops heavily when it is raining heavily outside. Scheduling (1/5): Make sure you bring enough food. Pros: Good Food: Lunch at the Maya village was unexpectedly delicious—much better than our hotel food (though extreme hunger certainly helped!). Cenote Swimming: Swimming at Casa Tortuga Tulum was enjoyable and refreshing. Cons & Things to Know: Extremely Late Lunch (Main Reason for -2 Stars): After spending 1.5 hours at the Tulum Archaeological Zone, we were all starving. We didn't get lunch until 4:45 PM, which is far too late when your day starts early in the morning. Skipped Coba / Schedule Issues: Instead of Coba, we spent 2.5+ hours at Casa Tortuga Cenotes. While nice, 2.5 hours was longer than expected, making it impossible to visit Coba. Pick-Up Delays: Picked up at 7:15 AM (bus was late due to rain) and spent a long time waiting to consolidate passengers from other hotel pickup buses. Playa del Carmen Stop: After a 1-hour drive, heavy rain limited our time in Playa del Carmen strictly to an indoor shopping mall. Very Long Day: Returned to our hotel around 9:30 PM, making it another 14+ hour journey. Tip for Travelers: Pack plenty of snacks! You will be doing a lot of walking and swimming before getting food late in the afternoon.
